Waste

How to Screw the Environment with Waste:

"Just make lots and lots of it"

Why is waste is one of the best ways to Screw the Environment.

Simple. To make waste, first of all you have to take a bunch of stuff, pay someone to make it into something, then pay someone else to take it away, with all the associated energy wastage and Co2 production.

When you buy a product, you're paying for it from cradle to grave one way or another.

Where does it go when I throw it away?

Well, it either gets burned or buried (unless you recycle it but that's not throwing it away). Despite the recent introduction of stringent air quality laws (big business wants to Screw the Environment too), a lot of airborne pollution results from waste incineration which you may end up breathing if you live near an urban center.

Waste that is buried in landfills often contributes to ground water pollution, which is where a high eprcentage of our drinking water comes from. Pollution in ground water (underground aquifers) can stay there for thousands of years so future generations can share the brunt of us Screwing the Environment. Plus you have to drink it too.

So with Incineration AND landfilling waste, you can Screw the Environment and not even have to wait long for the impact to Screw you too!

Waste types.

Waste doesn't have to be an object, it can be water, or energy or money or even your time. Waste is such a good way to Screw the Environment.

What to avoid.

If you try to live in sustainable way and attempt to avoid making waste in the first place (minimisation) you will of course have an immediate and massive effect on the environmental impact of waste.

Re-using or Recycling also reduces waste's impact.

You have been warned.
