Global Warming
Why is it our fault exactly?
This bit is the easiest to explain.
We've already explained what Global Warming is so all we need to know is that releasing Co2 is the bit that is supposed to be causing Global Warming.
Co2 is released everytime we burn a Fossil Fuel. Mostly we do this to create power of one sort or another.
For example, we use Oil derivatives to power our Internal combustion Engine vehicles and they are responsible for 18% of global Co2 emissions.
Sources of Anthropogenic Greenhouse Gas Emissions Worldwide.
- Power stations 21.3%
- Industrial processes - 16.8%
- Travel - 14%
- Agricultural by-products 12.5%
- Fossil fuel processing - 11.3%
- Residential 10.3%
- Land use 10%
- Waste disposal 3.4%
- Cement production 3.8%
Since 1751 we've put an estimated 3.4 Billion tonnes of Co2 into the atmosphere through processes like those listed above.
The theory is that this has caused Global Warming to occur or has kick started a natural process of Global Warming that we may not be able to stop in time.
You have been warned.
