How to Screw the Environment whilst Cooking:
"Use more electricity and gas than you need to when you're cooking "
How do I do that then?
We can use a lot of energy in the kitchen, but you want to know how to waste the most right?
Ok, in order to have the maximum impact on the environment when cooking, and really Screw the Environment, you must avoid doing any of the following simple and effective energy saving things in the kitchen:
- Covering cooking pans while cooking to prevent heat loss
- Covering the cooker hob with the pan base, if you can see some hob, you're wasting energy
- Use less liquid, things cook quicker that way
- Reheating left overs in the microwave or on a hob, not in the oven
- Use a pressure cooker if you have one
- Cook 'one pot' meals like steas or soups
- Use a solar Cooker
All these techniques can reduce the amount of energy you use and therefore your impact on the environment.
If lowering your environmental impact and saving money is something you want to avoid like the plague, you know what to do!
You have been warned.
