Bonfires
How to Screw the Environment with Bonfires:
"Have lots and lots of them, and burn nasty stuff, not just wood and leaves "
And here's why:
Burning organic material produces Carbon Dioxide (Co2) which is a Greenhouse gas and contributes towards Global Warming.
So what, my insignificant little bonfire isn't going to make much difference you say.
No you're right about that, but don't despair! Bear in mind that you may have several bonfires a year and you live in a country with Millions of people doing the same thing!
That adds up to a lot of Co2. Some people have actually done the math - check this out.
Feel better now? See, you can help to Screw the Environment by having garden bonfires and if you want maximum effect, just burn plastics and other nasty stuff like chemicals and paint at the same time and you can contribute towards Air Pollution, even breath some yourself while your at it!
The alternative.
It might seem tempting to use your collected leaves or brush wood to make a mulch for yourself or your neighbours gardens but then you'd be missing out on an opportunity to produce Co2 and help make Global Warming happen.
You have been warned.
